I went to this link from my friend’s blog, and it was funny.

Waking Life

March 30th, 2007

I haven’t written in a while (again). I have been so busy. Just when I think I am going to have time to actually do anything, I end up having more work to do, or more places to go.

My grandmother died last Friday. She was 73 years old, and it was completely unexpected. In fact, I had just visited her a few weeks before, and she seemed to be healthier than she had been in a long time. But I guess you just never know when it comes to death. She apparently had a series of heart attacks (she had one or two in the couple of days preceding Friday). No one recognized them as heart attacks because the symptoms are different in women, and victims of diabetes. It still seems so unreal. I feel like I could call her up right now and talk to her.
My 14 year old cousin, who was very close to her, was right outside her hospital room when she died. Even so, I think that she is being very strong. She is so mature. I regret that I missed getting to see her grow up. I was around her and her brother so much when they were younger, and now I feel like I hardly know them. I am going to have to visit more often when Joe gets a normal job.

I am working on a web site for their mother, my Aunt Margaret. She owns a restaurant with her husband called “Margaret and Peter Pulhac’s Blue Danube Restaurant“. It is located in Trenton, NJ and has a great selection of “Eastern European and Continental Cuisine”. The food there is so good, and they give you large portions. They have been open since 1990. I can’t believe it’s been that long. It makes me feel so old.

I just launched a site for Bellaziza - a company created by Crista Makdouli that specializes in barrettes and other accessories for babies and children. The items she makes are very high quality and I suggest you check them out. Right now she only has barrettes listed on the site, but she will have hats and sweaters soon.

The past couple of weeks have been so surreal. Between my grandmother dying, and other things that have happened, I feel like I haven’t really been here. Just doing my best to get ideas out and make the internet a better place, as usual. I love designing. I get lost in design. Because I just sort of zone out into whatever I am designing and the time flies by. Sometimes I don’t get to do anything else enjoyable because I am just designing. I like it, but at the same time, it’s not so healthy to just be sitting in front of a computer all day and night. My back has been bothering me, and I have been having trouble losing weight that I have gained.

I need to exercise. My mom got us a treadmill for xmas which I have only used once. It’s a really nice one, too. It’s just that most of the time I don’t get up from my chair. I need to make a point to at least try to use it every day. Then maybe I will use it enough to begin to make a difference.

Anyway, that concludes our update for now. I will try to post more soon.

Love,

Sarah

Bellaziza Business Card

March 11th, 2007

Bellaziza wanted a business card to match the rest of their identity, and to set them apart from other children’s companies.  We created a card that was true to their branding.

For more information, visit their web site (which we also designed and developed).

Bluray and PS3 Discoveries

Tags: ,

March 6th, 2007

So our questions have been answered.

Just a recap - Whenever we tried to watch Blu-ray disks on our PS3, it would freeze for about 10 seconds or so. It would do this sporadically through the movie, and then start playing again. We thought it might have been the disks from Netflix, because they were a little smudged.

This wasn’t the case. It actually was an issue with the PS3. Apparently, something with using the Sixaxis controller as a remote (even just having it turned on for standby) and having the wifi enabled while watching a blu-ray movie was too taxing for the system. So to remedy this, we simply have to remember to turn off the wifi before we watch a movie. We haven’t had any problems since (except when we forget to turn the wifi off).

So now we are fully enjoying our HD experience, and our Netflix account - with no worries.
